Today was the final day of Equine Affaire 2011 in W. Springfield, Mass., and for those of you who aren't already aware, the last day of the event (Sunday) is always when you want to go hunting for bargains. I had been dying to buy a pair of Ariat boots for awhile, but with their boot prices averaging at $200, I had really wanted to find a good deal! I started my morning by scouring Ariat's booth for boots that I liked, but they're prices were still a little too high, and they weren't carrying the boots that I had narrowed down to possibly buying: the Ariat Legacy distressed boot(normally retailing at $189.95), the Heavenly boots (normally retailing at 209.95), and the Daisy boots (which normally retails for $179.95). My goal was to find a pair of boots that I liked at about half price.
Halfway through the day, I started to lose faith, and didn't think I'd be able to find discounted Ariat boots at all. I had searched about a half dozen vendors that I knew carried the brand, and their boots hadn't been marked down at all. Finally, while walking through the Mallary Center, I stumbled upon a tack shop called Double M Western Store that had Ariat boots at a reduced price. They were not offered at half-price, but all Ariat boots were being sold with $20 taken off the price. Although they didn't have the Daisys or the Heavenly, they did carry the Legends. I'll admit, I was still skeptical of trying them on, because $169.95 was beyond my budget. However, after I put them on, I knew I had to have them! Luckily, tomorrow is my birthday, so I called my mother if she'd reimburse me for half of what I paid...and the rest is history! To top it off, I also got a free Ariat duffle bag with my purchase! I am now the proud owner of a pair of Ariat Legend boots, which I'll be wearing to make a fashion statement, NOT to the barn!
